V Apple And Circuit City Launch Pilot Program
* A handful of Circuit City stores in the eastern U.S. will feature a selection of Macs including MacBooks, Mac minis, MacBook Pros and iMacs. The initiative is part of a new pilot program, which if successful, Circuit City hopes to expand to many of its retail stores. "This is a pilot program that's just getting underway and we will evaluate how it is doing over the next several months," said Circuit City spokesman Jim Babb. In addition to Macs, the retailer would also stock select Mac software titles and accessories.

The Broadcom 802.11n adapter provides a draft version of the 802.11n wireless specification which is not yet finalized..

* The New York Post reports that Wal-Mart is warning Hollywood studios against partnering with Apple's iTunes Store for movie distribution.

According to studio executives, "Wal-Mart has overtly threatened to retaliate if [studios] go into business with Apple... The situation between [Wal-Mart] and Hollywood has gotten so heated and so high-level that Jobs recently phoned Wal-Mart CEO Lee Scott to ask him to moderate his stance, according to a source."
* Reuters story claims that Wal-Mart has said it is not trying to dissuade movie studios from working with Apple's iTunes service. "The Post story appears to be a rehashing of the misinformation that's been printed previously," a Wal-Mart spokeswoman said in a statement.
